The Uttarakhand Cabinet on Wednesday approved amendments to the anti-conversion law to make it harsher, with stringent provisions such as punishment up to life imprisonment and heavy fines being included in the new Bill.

Undocumented migrants leaving via eastern border tripled in 2025'

The number of undocumented migrants - suspected to be from Bangladesh - apprehended by the Border Security Force (BSF) while attempting to voluntarily leave India through the eastern border this year was over three times higher than in 2024, government data show.

U.S. briefly deploys two warships to disputed sea after Chinese ships collide

The U.S. deployed two warships on Wednesday in a disputed South China Sea shoal, where two Chinese navy and coast guard ships collided two days ago while trying to drive away a smaller Philippine ship in a high-seas accident captured on video, alarming several Western and Asian countries.
